Berlin, Dec 13, 2010. Coeus Solutions GmbH participated in Lucent-Alcatel OpenAPI Hackathon at Le Web 2010 held in Paris on 8th and 9th December 2010. Lucent-Alcatel solicited proposals from many developers and short-listed 20 top teams to participate in the hackathon. The short-listed teams were given free Le Web passes. Coeus team participated and consisted of programmers from the development center in Lahore and on-site team at Le Web. They created a real time news application called RetiloNews. The iPhone application allows users to search on any term, retrieve news related to the term and then filter news by stories, updates, comments, images and videos. Furthermore, users can share the stories on Twitter or Facebook or if they have received the news story from Twitter or Facebook, they can “retweet”. The application was built on a framework that allows geo-tagging of news both automatically and manually allowing a rich view of the entire news. Judges panel from Lucent-Alcatel awarded the app forth prize in the competition.
